Youths urged to ignore campaigns violence calls

Kakamega County Commissioner (CC), John Ondego, has advised residents of Matete, Lugari and Likuyani Sub- counties to maintain peace as August 9th  General Elections approaches.

While speaking in Lugari, Monday, Ondego said that local residents should listen to politicians as they popularize their agenda, but should do so peacefully.

He advised residents to reject leaders who are war mongers, adding a good leader should always champion peace and togetherness irrespective of party affiliations.

The County Commissioner revealed that the government had put all necessary mechanisms, which should be supported by the residents, to ensure peaceful and credible elections.

Ondego, however, urged the people of the three Sub-counties, to elect development conscious leaders, to aid in finding solutions to some of the challenges facing them.

He advised resident to support both the County and National Governments’ development initiatives, explaining that the government was determined to ensure that citizens lead quality lives.
