KNA Marakwet West NG-CDF projects implementation committees have been advised to appropriately utilize funds allocated to their projects so that the same could be finished on time to start benefiting residents.
Marakwet West MP William Kisang warned that committee members will be held accountable and severe action taken in the event of funds embezzlement stressing that those overseeing projects implementation must exercise a high level of transparency and accountability.
“Committee members must appropriately manage the money allocated to them to ensure development in the community,” he stressed adding the funds allocated this Financial year would be used to complete ongoing projects and projects forwarded by the community as well as bursary support for the needy.
He added that the area NG-CDF aimed to provide permanent structures in all public primary schools as well as science laboratories in local public secondary schools to enhance learning.
Kisang reiterated that besides bursaries and school development projects, the local NG-CDF provides mentorship programs where students from different schools are selected, then brought together and imparted with skills by professionals in diverse fields.
