Uhuru’s government has broken record in issuance of land titles

Defence Cabinet Secretary (CS) Eugene Wamalwa has hailed the Jubilee government for setting a mark in the issuance title deeds across the country noting that the target has exceeded the combined total number that former regimes issued.

Speaking during the launch of issuance of land titles in West Pokot County on Friday, Wamalwa said the government under Uhuru Kenyatta has facilitated the issuance of 6 million titles within a record time of 10 years.

“For 50 years the then governments managed to process 5 million deeds as compared to Uhuru’s administration that has broken the record by processing 6 million titles since taking over in 2013 something that is amazing,” Wamalwa stated.

He lauded the government initiative of fast-tracking the issuance of land titles noting that it has helped many Kenyans have value for their land since they now can now enjoy full ownership.

Meanwhile Wamalwa and the former national Assembly Speaker Kenneth Marende have asked West Pokot residents to practice wisdom when choosing their leaders in the forthcoming August general election.

The two leaders rallied the residents to read the signals and choose the leaders that will form the next government hinting that their decision to support Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance coalition was informed by indications that it was in pole position to form the next government.

“I have never missed in government since 2003 because I am smart at making the right predictions. I call upon you to follow my footsteps so that we can be in the next government under Raila Amollo Odinga,” urged Wamalwa.

On his part Marende called on the West Pokot residents to be part of the team that will form the next government arguing that his premonition that Azimio will take the lead in the forthcoming elections will come to pass.

The former speaker  reiterated that, God willing he will be the next National Assembly Speaker after Raila Odinga emerges victorious in the August polls urging the West Pokot residents to engage in peaceful politics during this campaign season.

“We should refrain from abusive and divisive politics as the country closes in to the General Election in August. We are all Kenyans and by looks one cannot differentiate who is who and comes from where,” advised Marende.

A total 123 title deeds were issued during the launch exercise by the CS with the West Pokot County Lands Registry having received over 1,500 ready for collection.
