UDA party regional secretariat office commissioned in Kisii

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) presidential campaign team has commissioned a secretariat office in Kisii County, as a common coordination Centre for the Nyanza region, that will ensure procedural campaign material distribution and enhance its campaigns in the next two months.

Speaking during the launch at Nyatieko Location in Kitutu Central Sub-county, Migori County Governor, Okoth Obado, stated that the campaign schedules had been made, urging everyone to go out peacefully in the quest of looking for votes.

“We must be very peaceful and distinguish ourselves from other sides that thrive on thuggery and hooliganism. If you pin your posters, we want them to remain there as well as those of opponents. Do not tear them down. We want to be peaceful and democratic,” affirmed Obado.

Obado added that everyone will remain to be Kenyan after the August 9th  General Election, adding that every candidate should be free to move to any part of the country seeking for votes.

The Governor further stated that there was no need to ‘balkanize’ the country by zoning areas thereby locking other candidates out from various territories, saying they also move to their regions.

Turkana County Governor, Josphat Nanok, said that leaders who recognize and lift the livelihoods of the common Kenyans to the level of national discussion in a general election, were leaders who matter the most.

“The views and priorities of Kenyans from all different walks of life that were contributed, will form the Kenya Kwanza Alliance’s presidential candidate, Deputy President William Ruto’s manifesto on 20th this month,” stated Nanok.

Nanok noted that Nyanza’s priorities among other regions, will be specifically factored in the manifesto, saying it will be a bottom-up manifesto that will also provide how those priorities will be funded.

He said that Nyanza leaders and campaign teams, will be critical in the General Election because they would want the bottom-up economic model that benefits the people to be delivered by the next government.

The Governor further said everyone in Kenya Kwanza Alliance, should come together strongly to ensure they are set to deliver one million votes from the Nyanza region in the next two months.

He opposed the plan by the Azimio presidential candidate, to ban the importation of mitumba clothes into the country, if elected as president, saying six million Kenyans depend on the business for their livelihoods.

South Mugirango Member of Parliament, Silvanus Osoro, stated that the Office will be a major boost to their campaigns, noting that campaign materials will be distributed to the villages and agents will be recruited ahead of the August General Election.

“We have roadshow plans that will cover major roads. We want to traverse Gusii, so that we can show our strength as Kenya Kwanza Alliance. The campaign team is planning a series of meetings across the Nyanza region and we already have dates and where the principals will be,” added Osoro.
