Thirteen trafficked Burundians nabbed in Kuria West

 

Police officers from Mabera Police Post in Kuria West of Migori County together with the Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit (CIPU) Thursday night arrested 13 foreigners suspected to have been trafficked.

 

The13 Burundi nationals were nabbed while on transit a Probox car that was heading to Migori Town after a tip off from the area residents. bAmong the victims of the human trafficking was a one-year and a five-year-old children while the eldest was a 53-year-old man.

Some of the 13 Burundi nationals that were nabbed by the Mabera Police officer and the Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit( CIPU)

 

Police were able to arrest the human trafficker who was also the driver of the vehicle Mr. Yusuf Chacha Samwel, a Kenyan citizen.

 

Speaking on phone the Sub County Police Commander for Kuria West and Mabera Mr. Kemboi Kimayo said that the suspected trafficker Mr. Yusuf Chacha Samwel will be arraigned in Court today at Kehancha Magistrate’s Law courts.

 

The 13 Burundians were handed over to the Immigration officers at the Isebania border point waiting for repatriation. The destination of the trafficked Burundians was not established.
