Teso North FKF clubs receive full kits from NG-CDF

KNA   Seventeen clubs participating in branch and sub-branch Football Kenya Federation (FKF) leagues in Teso North have benefitted from full kits and a ball each, courtesy of the National Government Constituency Development Fund.

Busia Branch FKF chairman, Hillary Musundi and the Secretary General Reuben Olita represented the federation in the Friday handover event at Malaba stadium presided over by area MP Oku Kaunya.

Clubs participating in the County League that benefited from the uniforms donation included Kakurikit FC, FC Amagoro, Boca Junior, Kekalet and Kamolo.

Those participating in the sub-branch league included Changara, Chamasiri, Kolanya, Katakwa, Aboloi, Moding, Koruruma, Kamuriai, Okuleu, Kasogol-Kapel, Kiriko and Amoni.

Musundi hailed the MP for the gesture aimed at promoting sports in the constituency noting that he is the second to embrace the Sub county and county leagues after his Budalangi counterpart Raphael Wanjala.

The branch chairman appealed to clubs to register in the various cadres of leagues-now that the leadership is beginning to embrace sports, urging leaders across the county to put in money and wait for results.

“Through your support, Teso North Sub County has entered a record six teams out of 19 participating in the County league and a record 30 featuring in the sub-branch league.

“My appeal to the teams that have benefitted from the uniforms and balls is that they should use them prudently,” he  said, while acknowledging
that football pays but on condition that you play and pursue your academic career.

Musundi urged the legislator to also consider sponsoring referees’ and coaches’ training to enable many referees and coaches enter the well-paying profession.

Kaunya said the equipment will come in handy when the National Government resumes sporting activities in the Lake Region Economic Block which were adversely affected by the pandemic.

Kaunya who also recently  donated uniforms and balls to selected volleyball, leg ball, and athletic team, and uniform to Amagoro Taekwondo Club said the equipment will come in handy when the government will allow resumption of sporting activities across the
country.

He pledged to support any team from the constituency that will excel at the County and progress to the premier league level.
