Rutto’s CCM refutes Governor Barchok vote influence allegations

The Chama Cha Mashinani Party has refuted claims by Governor Prof Hillary Barchok that the party has been given Sh50 billion to sway votes away from the United Democratic Alliance Party in Bomet County and its environs.

Through its Acting Secretary General Albert Kochei, CCM said the allegations comprised falsehood and that the Governor had sensed defeat and was making wild allegations as a diversionary tact.

Kochei said Prof Barchok had handled more than Sh45 billion in his term and that he should bank on development record which he has failed to show the residents of Bomet.

Governor Prof Barchok had earlier alleged that the CCM party was an Azimio La Umoja One Kenya mole, posing as an ally to Kenya Kwanza Alliance, which was out to swindle voters during the August 9 elections.

Barchok dared the party that he would table proof of a meeting between the CCM party and representatives of Azimio faction in Nakuru where the plan was allegedly hatched.

He said the plan was to unfairly deny The Kenya Kwanza Alliance coalition South Rift votes, a region widely perceived as a UDA stronghold.

Meanwhile, the two parties are yet to resolve a stalemate regarding which one has a right to use the Bomet Green Stadium to hold their final mega rallies on Saturday August 6 when campaigns will officially come to a close.
