New political party launched in Machakos

A new political party, The Empowerment and Liberation Party (ELP), has been launched in Machakos county, with the party leaders saying their agenda is to offer leadership with integrity and safeguard interests of the people.

Speaking during the launch of the party at the Machakos Golf Club, the Machakos County Chapter, party leader Rose Mulwa said ELP will be a stronger force to reckon with and they will incorporate everyone to share their ideologies.

“Our ideologies and objectives as ELP are to be empowered and be relevant in the political arena,” said Mulwa.

She said they intend to partner with other parties, but at a later date for they can’t take the responsibility of elections on their own at the moment and still have time to strengthen their party.

“We do not mind working with the other political parties, though not right now, but at a later date because ELP will not carry the responsibility of participating in the elections alone, but will join forces,” added Mulwa.

ELP Mount Kenya representative, Paul Mithamo said the ELP party is a party with visionary leadership and a party of the future.

He added that the common mwananchi   will have a voice in the party and their ambition is to offer visionary leadership.

“We are here at ELP to stay and we want to have one voice which is for the common mwananchi and the less privileged. Our party is a party with visionary leadership and a party of the future,” said Mithamo.

A member of the clergy who was present Dr. Bishop Daniel Kwesi of Kweli Ministries said they are going around the country talking to Kenyans and believers to maintain peace and pray for the nation as they listen to God.

“We are going around the whole country talking to believers urging them to fast, pray and listen to God,” he said.

Bishop Kwesi who is also the founder and the National chairman of the Voice of Kenyans Foundation, which focuses on the nations healing, peace and cohesion, said the church is awake and people are on the mountains and caves praying and crying for the country

“I want to assure Kenyans that the church is awake and we want to hear from God. People are on the mountains, caves and prayer centers praying and crying for our nation and peaceful elections,” added the bishop.
