Narok ODM party officials’ elections

A prominent wheat farmer in Narok County, Musa Ole Nampaso has been elected the new Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Chairman in the County.

Ole Nampaso was elected by 20 delegates who met at a Narok hotel, today. He replace his late brother Charles Ole Nampaso who passed on last year.

The New Chairman promised to popularize the party in the County and ensure that it wins most of the seats in the next General Elections.

“We want to take over three quarter of the Members of County Assembly representative, the County Senator and the Governorship seat. Our main aim will be to popularize this party among the residents in the county,” said Ole Nampasao.

Kelemet Larus was elected the new party’s Secretary while Jack Tirkolo  is  the new Coordinator of the party in the County.

Larus regretted that only one of the six Members of Parliament and the Senator were elected on an ODM ticket in the last General Elections, vowing to revert this trend.

“Our biggest assignment as a party is to ensure we return our people to ODM where they used to belong. We will move around the county popularizing the party and campaigning for the candidates who will stand with our party,” he said.

On his part, Tirkolo assured the youth that they were safer in ODM than any other party, alleging that the party will prioritize empowering them economically.

The leaders promised to hold free, fair and credible party nominations, calling on those who will lose in the party primaries not to quit the party, but join hands with those who will win.

Rose Ketere, who was elected as the party women representative said she will ensure that more women will get a chance to vie for elective seats under the party ticket.

In the last elections, only Senator Ledama Ole Kina and Narok North Member of Parliament Moitalel Ole Kenta were elected on an ODM ticket.

All the other five MPs in the County and the Governor were elected on a Jubilee ticket.
