Nambale releases Sh. 34 million bursary cheques to needy students

KNA Nambale MP John Sakwa Bunyasi through NG-CDF dispatched bursary cheques worth Sh. 34 million to boost education efforts for needy students in the constituency.

 Presiding over the handing over of cheques to various schools from 2020 / 2021 Financial Year, Chairperson Okochill Alfred and Bunyasi Personal Assistant Samuel Wandera assured residents that all students who had applied for the fund will benefit from allocation.

“Cheques have been dispatched to various institutions you can also verify if you are a successful beneficiary by accessing the list from our website www.nambale.co.ke,” said Okochill.

For the FY 2019/2020 through NG-CDF, Bunyasi has been able to construct 18 new schools fully funded, which include construction of classrooms and laboratories for 11 secondary schools, and 7 new primary schools.

Addressing the press at the CDF office yesterday,  Okochill said Sh. 18 million will benefit secondary school students and Sh. 15 million will be shared among those in the institutions of higher.

Wandera said late disbursement of the fund from the National Treasury hindered the operations of the board.

Bunyasi remains committed to championing education in the constituency as that is the only avenue to counter-illiteracy and poverty within Nambale constituency.

The head teacher of Canon Awori secondary school Stephen Makonjio also confirmed that the school has benefited from the Nambale NG-CDF in which they have built a laboratory worth Sh 4.5million and one class at a cost of over Sh 400,000.
