Omondi scored an A plain with 82 points, placing him in the top ten underage students.

The school community led by Principal Kennedy Ojijo were delighted when Omondi’s name was pronounced on television and radio during release of the results.

Ojijo described Omondi as a disciplined student who was always committed to academics. “He has been hard working throughout his academic journey,” Ojijo said.

He said Omondi had uplifted not only the name of Mbita High School but the entire Nyanza region on the academic map.

“We are proud of him and other students of ours who have done well in the examinations. Indeed, hard work pays,” Ojijo said.

During release of the results, Omondi is one of the few students from Nyanza whose names were mentioned by Education Cabinet Secretary Prof Magoha.

“It is not a mean feat for Magoha to pronounce a student’s name during release of the exams. Those who were mentioned are exceptionally good,” Ojijo said.
