KNA Makueni County Assembly has formed an Ad Hoc committee on the Constitutional of Kenya Amendment Bill, popularly known as the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
The eleven-member committee chaired by Nguumo Member of County Assembly (MCA) Alfred Nyamai will be seeking views from members of the public and other stakeholders on the bill.
Speaker Douglas Mbilu directed the committee to expedite their work. He spoke on Tuesday at the county assembly during the adoption of the committee.
Members of the public and other interested parties have until February 19 to submit their proposals on the bill.
The committee will then table the report at the floor of the house for deliberations by MCAs after which it will either be adopted or rejected.
So far two county assemblies, Kisumu and Siaya have passed the BBI bill.
