KNA Lurambi Member of Parliament (MP) Titus Khamala has encouraged form four leavers interested in pursuing courses at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) to apply for bursary from the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) kitty.
The MP, who spoke while issuing cheques worth Sh. 2.5 million to the institution on Friday, said the money would be used for the construction of two lecture halls.
He disclosed that so far they have identified five students who come from needy families and paid for them Sh. 70,000 to cater for their fees and other needs.
Khamala said they want primary, secondary and colleges to have good infrastructures by constructing standard classrooms adding bursary application forms will be availed to schools for easy access by the learners.
“We know that upcoming level six Kakamega County Teaching and Referral hospital will need health personnel and hence the need for the KMTC to produce them,” he said.
