Kingi Vows to hunt down Junju killers
Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi on Monday vowed to have culprits who brutally murdered three people at Junju Village, Kilifi South last Wednesday apprehended and prosecuted.
Sidik Anwarali Sumra a renowned businessman, his driver Rahil Mamdani and his land agent James Kazungu were killed by a mob who accused them of being human traffickers.
Sources at the Governor’s office indicated that Sidik was a dairy farmer well known to Junju residents as he had visited the village severally on business missions while James Kazungu was a resident of the Village.
Briefing the press on Monday at Kilifi County Government offices, the Governor said the killers will face the full wrath of the law and strongly condemned the incident.
“I want to tell you Kilifi residents today that even if you want to defend your rights of land ownership, the law and our constitution provides us with different ways of resolving land conflicts, none of which involves killing. Anyone capable of using a panga to kill another because of land issues, is a criminal. Therefore, those who were involved in this barbaric killing, be warned, the law is after you!” Kingi Said.
Similarly the Governor said his office will stop at nothing to ensure that no one interferes with the ongoing investigations aimed at apprehending the culprits.
Responding to claims some corrupt politicians were working in cahoots with the murderers, Governor Kingi said such speculations had not reached his office.
