KNA Kilifi County Governor, Amason Kingi, has applauded Pwani University graduates class of 2020 as the higher learning institution marked its 8th graduation, yesterday, at the main campus in Kilifi town.
Among those he recognized during the graduation ceremony was County Executive Committee Member (CEC) for Agriculture, Luciana Sunzua, who was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Horticulture.
The Governor hailed the graduands being awarded Certificates, Diplomas, Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD degrees, wishing them well in their careers.
“Your diligence, dedication and resolve has finally paid off. May the qualification inspire you to pursue greater excellence in your chosen fields of study and career,” remarked Kingi.
Kingi expressed his pride for the University for its role in shaping the County and pledged support from the County to ensure it produces the best graduates, who are going to contribute to national development.
“As the premier public university based in Kilifi County, we are proud of the great role Pwani University continues to play in molding top notch professionals and future leaders and assure its leadership of the full support of my government, anytime and in any way possible, it is required,” he said.
A total of 1,842 students graduated from the University with undergraduate programmes recording the highest number of graduands totaling 1,686 while post graduate Diploma programmes recorded the lowest number of graduands at 19.
