Kamolo and Dragon FC shone in Busia County league that entered its 12th week over the weekend, hammering their opponents ruthlessly.
In a Zone B match played at Kamolo Primary school, host Kamolo FC defeated visiting Kakurikit FC 11-0. Green Canopy in another match trounced Busia Villa 6-0 at Mundika Boys Primary School in a Zone A encounter.
Engineer Eugene Okello “Afobe” Omudek and Oscar Omusugu scored five goals each, while Imada Evans completed the score tally with one goal.
Kakurikit FC were forced to field only seven players, including the goalkeeper after four of their players were injured in a motorcycle accident as they were travelling to the match. Club coach Bernard Opworo was called to task as he was forced to play for entire 90 minutes.
Five goals over the weekend has pushed Eng. Omudek to the top of the scoring chart with a goal tally of 17. This includes three hat tricks and two braces in a row.
Omusugu is second with 10 goals, with their partnership netting a total of 27 goals to see them move second on the log with 21 points, three behind leaders Malaba Giants with a goal difference of 20.
Goals in their 6-0 rout of Villa came through Martin Buluma, Felix Ojiambo and Geoffrey Ouma who scored a brace each.
The victory for Canopy saw them cement second place, with 23 points, one point behind leaders Dragon FC who lost their second match since the start of the season, falling 3-1 to visiting Ajax at Nyakwaka Primary School.
Ajax victory helped them move to third place with 22 points, while Butula Eagles who drew 1-1 with visiting Masters FC are fourth with 21 points.
Mabale outshined Mungatsi 3-0. In other Zone A matches Young Rovers were held to a 2-2 draw by Teens of Hope at Otimong Primary School.
In Zone B, FC Amagoro and Boca Junior settled for a barren draw in an exciting match played at Amagoro Primary School, while Kekalet beat Lupida 2-0.
