Herdboy in court for defilement

A 16 year-old herd boy was today arraigned before a Loitoktok court charged with defiling a 12 year-old girl.

The teen who appeared before Principal Magistrate Judicaster Nthuku is accused of defiling the minor on January 22, this year at Nchalai area, Loitoktok Sub County.

While testifying, the girl told the court that on the material day she and her 6-year-old brother had gone to graze their cows away from home.

The minor narrated how while her brother went to check on cows at a distance, the accused resurfaced, pinned her on the ground and defiled her as she screamed for help.

She said the screams alerted her brother who when he arrived found her bleeding and told her to go home leaving him with the animals.

Her mother Mary Naboru told the court how her daughter came from grazing bleeding and narrated to her the ordeal she had underwent.

The matter was reported at Loitoktok Police station after which the girl was escorted to Loitoktok Sub hospital for treatment. Later the accused was arrested and subsequently charged with the offense that he pleaded not guilty to.

In his defense the juvenile said he didn’t know the complainant maintaining he was innocent. Judgment will be delivered coming Thursday.
