Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki has congratulated the president-elect William Ruto after the Supreme Court of Kenya upheld his 9th August victory.
The governor said that it was the will of the people to elect Dr. Ruto following the court’s unanimous ruling that declared his win during the election valid.
The governor appreciated the people of Tharaka Nithi for their support having casted more than 70 per cent votes in favor of the president elect.
“On behalf of the people of Tharaka Nithi, I want to congratulate the President-elect Dr. William Samoei Ruto for the victory and I appreciate all of you for believing and voting for us,” he said.
Njuki assured that they will work even harder in the next five years to fulfil the mandate of the people. He urged residents to continue maintaining peace, adding that it was time for the country to move on after the suspense and uncertainty that followed the pending petition.
The governor further expressed that the election period is now behind us adding that it is back to business for everyone.
“I would like to urge those who supported Azimio and everyone else to maintain peace and accept the outcome, we are all one people and we shall work together for the betterment of the county,” he expressed
