Emgwen Residents endorse Alex Kimutai for senatorial seat

Residents of Emgwen constituency in Nandi County have endorsed Alex Kimutai Kosgei for senatorial seat in the coming 2022 general elections.

Kosgei is currently the Member of Parliament for Emgwen constituency having served for two terms since 2013.

The two term legislator is a scholar who values education having sponsored quite a number of students in various schools. Through CDF, he constructed of Kipkeibon secondary school for community use.

He has also supported talent development through sports by constructing Kapsabet sports centre at AC Tegat primary school.

Speaking to journalist at a Kapsabet hotel, locals led by Kiprotich Evan said that they have faith in Kosgei’s leadership following his achievements.

“Having a bachelor Degree in economics he will be able to oversee Nandi County resources being utilized well because we have seen how he has managed Emgwen constituency resources,” Kiprotich added.

Another speaker at the presser Bismack Sang said that the MP has supported needy students in paying school fees and ensuring they get quality education.

“Many needy students in the community have managed to achieve their dreams through bursaries,” Sang said adding that he is the best person to vie for the seat.

Speaking on behalf of youths, Kennedy Kirui said that the legislator through his Foundation, he has been able to sponsor many Boda Boda riders to go to driving schools.

“The MP being a youth is our role model and he will be able to front youth affairs at the senate. The youths are assured they won’t be left out in terms of development,” added Kirui.

The Emgwen legislator although has not publicly declared his intentions to vie for the senate position in the County.
