Deputy governor appeals to national government to lift curfew

Elgeyo Marakwet County Deputy Governor Wisley Rotich is appealing to the national government through the Ministry of Interior to lift the 6pm – 6am curfew imposed along the Kerio Valley region.

Speaking during the burial ceremony of the late paramount chief Samuel Ruto at Liter in Endo ward, Marakwet East Sub County, Rotich said the ongoing curfew is not yielding any tangible results as the bandits and perpetrators of crime have changed their operations to daytime.

The deputy governor said the national government should strive to find long lasting solution that will restore permanent peace in the region.
