Constituency election results trickle in

Immediate former Uasin Gishu county Assembly speaker David Kiplagat has won the Soy parliamentary seat after garnering 50,540 to edge out his sole competitor Dr. Elias Meli who managed 14623 votes.

Kiplagat was the UDA candidate while Dr. Meli ran as an independent candidate.

In Kesses constituency, Julius Ruto of UDA edged out current MP Dr. Swarup Mishra after managing to get 32,839 against Mishra’s 21,404. Mishra became the first MP of Indian origin to win in Uasin Gishu County after being elected in 2017.

In Kapseret constituency, the current Member of Parliament Oscar Kipchumba Sudi retained the seat after getting 31534 votes against independent candidate Frank Murgor who managed 11,091 votes.

Earlier in Moiben constituency, Prof. Phylis Bartoo (UDA) was declared the winner with 40,892 relegating the current MP Silas Tiren and former MP Joseph Lagat who managed to get 8790 and 6784 respectively. The IEBC constituency returning officer Erastus Orwa declared the results last night.
