The Chairman of the National Museum of Kenya, David Musila has commended the Catholic Church for its active role in supplementing government efforts, especially in provision of health, education, water and empowerment of women and youth groups in Kitui County.
While speaking at a funeral in the Mwingi West constituency, Musila praised the catholic church for its community-based program and promised more support if elected as the next Kitui Governor.
“If elected I will have to source for land and construct a mega public hospital in Kitui County to supplement the existing facilities,” said the former Mwingi West Member of Parliament, as he declared his candidature for the county gubernatorial seat.
He added that he will as well ensure all Health facilities across the county are well equipped with, doctors, medicine, and other necessary equipment needed for provision of health services.
Kitui Catholic Bishop, Joseph Maluki Mwongela who presided over the ceremony promised more community-centered programs aimed at fighting poverty in the county.
