Bomet delivers Sh. 15 million medical consignment to Longisa Hospital

Bomet County Governor Prof Hillary Barchok has Monday overseen the delivery of medical consignment worth Sh. 15 million to Longisa Referral hospital.

The delivery from the Kenya Medical Supplies Agency (KEMSA) follows another Sh. 45 million supply on February and comes at a time when a section of residents of Bomet have complaint of shortage of medicine in public health facilities.

Prof Barchok, who is also a United Democratic Alliance Party nominees, refuted claims of the shortage explaining that the narrative originated from his opponents in his bid for re-election as Governor for Bomet.

He said the pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical supply was expected to be distributed to all public health facilities in the County by close of business Wednesday and that the supply was to last till October, 2022.

He said the County Government of Bomet relied on sharable revenue from the national Government and that delays in dispatching the funds have, in often times, led to delay in effecting supplies to health facilities.
