Ajira Digital Hub in Borabu providing online platform to the youth

ICT Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Maureen Mbaka has lauded the Borabu constituency Ajira Digital ICT Hubs in creating online job platforms for youths in the area.

Speaking while assessing the progress made by ICT Hubs in the County, Mbaka commended Ajira centre managers for training youths on how to access jobs online.

“There are hundreds of online job opportunities for youths in the country to explore and earn a living from the comfort of their homes. This is an avenue they need to exploit and curb the challenge of joblessness which has afflicted them over the years,” she said.

The CAS was emphatic that the government has invested heavily in technological infrastructure and internet connectivity countrywide, so no youth should give any excuse whatsoever, about failure not to access online jobs irrespective of where they live,” Mbaka expounded.

The CAS challenged centre managers to woo more ladies to take up training on online job opportunities, since idling was likely to expose them to all the pitfalls of life including unplanned parenting.

Borabu Centre manager Fred Ndubi thanked the CAS for her visit saying this particular government initiative has had a very positive impact on the majority of the youths who have shown interest in getting skills on how to work online.

“Aggressive youths have managed to access jobs online, and used the income as starter capitals for their dream businesses, something we are all proud of,” reiterated Ndubi.

The centre manager thanked the local National Government Constituency Development Office and ICT Authority officers for ensuring steady internet connectivity and a conducive working environment.

Mbaka further urged local youths to shun FGM, which was still rampant in Nyamira county, terming the practice as retrogessive culture that had no place in the modern society.
